FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GRAMMY®-NOMINATED DJ/PRODUCER DIRTY SOUTH AND DJ SUPERSTAR-ON-THE-RISE MICHAEL BRUN TEAM UP FOR NEW SINGLE: “RIFT”
New Track Released Today on Phazing Records
LOS ANGELES (November 26, 2012) – Dirty South’s largest North American tour of his career may have just come to an end with his sold-out show at the Hollywood Palladium last Saturday, but that doesn’t mean that he’s taking a break anytime soon. He and Michael Brun have been busy in the studio working on their new single, “Rift,” which was released today on Phazing Records. Earlier this year, Dirty South and Michael Brun first collaborated through the Phazing release “Rise,” that was edited by Dirty South, and now they have teamed up again for this epic new collaboration. The new track is now available exclusively on Beatport – it will available on iTunes on December 10.
It’s been a banner year for Dirty South. In addition to the success of his “City of Dreams” tour – which included sold-out shows at such iconic venues as New York City’s Roseland Ballroom and the Hollywood Palladium – his previous single “City of Dreams” with Alesso featuring Ruben Haze was released in August and it quickly took the #1 position on Beatport, and remained there for two weeks. Before that, “Eyes Wide Open” with Thomas Gold and the remix of Miike Snow’s “Devil’s Work,” along with edits for other Phazing releases from the likes of Michael Brun and John Dahlback, also saw success on the dance charts. And now he’s excited for what the future holds for his new single.
Dragan Roganovic, known as Dirty South, is a Serbian-born, Australian-based DJ, producer and songwriter whose acclaimed work has received such honors as two GRAMMY nominations, two ARIA nominations (Australian Music Industry’s top accolade) and a “Best Producer” trophy from the inthemix top 50 awards, among others. He has made a name for himself as a producer, musician and DJ, having produced, collaborated or remixed for the likes of Snoop Dogg, Pussycat Dolls, Kaskade, U2, Diddy Dirty Money, The Temper Trap, David Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso and more than 50 artists in total. He got his start at the early age of 13 growing up in Melbourne, Australia, where he currently resides. Influenced by everything around him, the artist started improvising with his old NEC Hi-Fi and mixing with the tape decks, and then started making bootlegs and mashups, which eventually lead to getting a computer, software and keyboard that resulted in his first official production in 2004 as Dirty South. The DJ/producer has gone on to play for some of the best clubs and festivals across the globe, including Ultra Music Festival, Pacha in Ibiza and New York, Ministry of Sound and more. With only a few short years under his belt in the international production scene, Dirty South’s potential to achieve tremendous musical heights seems limitless.
