New Song! New Film! New Tour!!

Afternoon all!

Good lord what an exciting week we have this week!

First off, let me introduce to you, an end of year release which we’re calling, ‘Yearbook’.

Including 4 unreleased tracks from the Teenage Blood sessions, a brand new 30 minute documentary by Anthony Jarman, session tracks, B-Sides, all our music videos from Teenage Blood and plenty more. All in a beautifully hand made, hand numbered limited run of 200!

Out December 3rd but available for Pre-Order NOW & when you pre-order, you’ll also get an immediate download of Get Worse.

Here’s some waffle I wrote about, ‘Yearbook’:

‘When writing Teenage Blood, I wrote over 100 songs, of which we recorded over 20 with 10 then making the record. A couple of my favourite songs we recorded didn’t make the album in the end, and although some have since been released as B-sides, some have never come out at all. Songs like, ‘Get Worse’ and, ‘Jane’ in particular, we all thought were going to be dead certs for the album, but it wasn’t to be.

Another thing that was happening while we were recording the album, was Anthony Jarman filming the whole sordid affair! Anthony is a fantastic film maker from Tunbridge Wells, and has made a 30 minute documentary on the recording and making of, ‘Teenage Blood’ entitled, ‘Right Side Of My Head’. Featuring studio footage from our Brewery HQ where we recorded the album, interviews with the Boat and behind the scenes bits and bobs, I think Anthony has very sensitively captured the stress, elation, twists and turns involved with recording an album, let alone in a barn, in the rain!

As well as the 4 unreleased songs, and the brand new documentary, ‘Yearbook’ also includes all the b-sides from the Teenage Blood campaign, session tracks from a Topman CTRL session we recorded in a crypt in East London, and hi-res versions of the 4 music videos we made for the album. And as if that wasn’t enough, there are also some beautiful, and as yet unseen, photos by Glen Whittington, taken during the recording of the album.

We’ve chosen to release this all on a data DVD, so we can get as many high quality files on there as possible, so all you need to do is pop it into your computer and drag the files off the disc, into iTunes or whichever program you use! ‘Yearbook’ will be limited to 200 copies only, be hand made and hand numbered by the wonderful folks at Unlabel who put out our first releases all those years ago, and will only be available physically, no digital! Available for pre-order now from http://www.tomwilliamsandtheboat.co.uk and out December 3rd 2012.’

To celebrate the release of yearbook, we’re streaming Get Worse online and you can hear it on the Soundcloud below!

And after you’ve listened to the brand new track, have a look at the first 4 minutes of the documentary, ‘Right Side Of My Head’ made by Anthony Jarman during the making and recording of Teenage Blood. Watch the trailer below! It’s a really great little film, very well done…

And not only are we announcing the release of, ‘Yearbook’ today, we’re also announcing a short spin round the UK! Do check out the dates below, snap up tickets, and if we’re not coming to your town, drop me an email (tomwilliamsmusic@hotmail.com) and we’ll try sort something out!
