Good afternoon everyone from deep within post Green Man recovery at Boat HQ!
Hope you’ve all had a marvelous couple of weeks and have hopefully got some sun! I managed to escape onto the continent for a week and so have been furiously planning the second Boat Radio! Thank you so much everyone that downloaded the last one and wrote to me to let me know that they were blasting it!
This months features a very tired sounding me, but the tunes are top notch! Track listing below, click the link or the image to download directly, no faffing about with the widget! This months tip is Jonathan Richman so I hope you hear some stuff you’ve never heard before as well as some well worn classics.
Boat Radio Ep 2 Tracklisting
1. Roadrunner – Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers
Green Man festival was a total pleasure, to be at and to play. We played a lovely huge big stage and although we played crack of dawn in torrential rain we had a blast! Watched by members of the wonderful Stornoway and the brilliant Alt-J we had a great time, and met some lovely people to boot! The sheer scale of muddiness is difficult to convey with these photographs but just imagine my poor little fiesta trying to get out of THIS carpark…
The festival was in the beautiful welsh mountains and had a fantastically friendly, good times, vibe… Can’t recommend it enough, my favourite festival ever I think! Here’s a nice little review of our show too on the fantastic John Robb’s ‘Louder Than War’ blog, HERE
A couple of great little live session videos have hit the interwebs since we last spoke so if you missed ’em here’s a brilliant one, particularly beautifully filmed, by the Topman CTRL blog HERE and another great live track and chat before our Bull & Gate show at the beginning of the year on The 405 blog who are also ace and always very kind to us, HERE.
We have a nice little string of festivals before us now to see out the end of the summer so do try pop along if you can! We also have a couple of great london shows, supporting the AMAZING Ben Kweller and Smoke Fairies, so have a look at the dates below:
August 25th 7:45pm Bandstand
You’ll notice our next show is this coming weekend in our home town of Tunbridge Wells as part of the, always excellent, Local & Live Festival. We’ll be playing the Bandstand in Pantiles at 7:45 in the evening and it’s totally free so do pop down, it’s sure to be ruddy marvelous!
Think that’s it for now folks, please do download Boat Radio, hope you enjoy it and hopefully see you at a gig soon!
Till next time 🙂
